Gull Lake Classic Boat Show Hello Skippers,
This year we will also be having a Classic Car Show in the Bar Harbor parking lot. If interested, the car registration form will be on our website. There is limited space available, so please hurry. We also plan to have our Classic Boats Tour of Gull Lake on Friday the 20th. Our classic boats will depart from the Bar Harbor docks at 11:00 a.m. on Friday and cruise down past Cragun's (on the south end of the lake) up the east side to the Gull Lake Yacht Club. There, for only $10 we will have your choice of burgers or brats, plus beer, chips and beans. This will also include a tour of the club. From there we will go around the north end of the lake, past Grand View Lodge and back to Bar Harbor. On the registration form there is a check space for a yes or no on the tour and lunch - please check the line and let us know. Once we return, the restaurant will be open for drinks and food. If we have enough skippers who would like to leave their boats over night at the Bar Harbor docks, we will have a guard on duty. If you would like to store your boat overnight, we will provide complimentary indoor storage just 3 miles up the road. The skippers’ dinner will be at Bar Harbor and is only $20.00 per person including the tip. A social hour will begin on the outdoor deck at 5:30 p.m., as well as the assigning of slips, and dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. Friends, family and first mates are invited (we need to know the number when you register). In case of bad weather, dinner will be inside. Skipper registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday August 21st at Bar Harbor’s skipper tent. Bar Harbor will be open for breakfast. Launching ramps are at the public landing as well as at Causeway behind Zorbaz. The launching crew will be at the Gull Lake Channel Launch ramp – just 100 yards from Bar Harbor and at the Causeway Ramp from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and again at 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on the 21st. We have 50 water slips and a few dry land spots available so register as soon as possible. The class awards will include Skipper’s Choice, People’s Choice, Best Non-Motorized Craft (this includes rowboats, duck boats, canoes, sailboats - anything powered by people), Best Utility under 20 feet, Best Utility 20 feet and over, Best Runabout under 20 feet, Best Runabout 20 feet and over, Best Outboard Boat, Best Launch, Best Cruiser, Best Fiberglass and the Best in Show Award as determined by experienced judges who each have over 40 years in the boat building and restoration business. All awards except the People’s Choice and the Best in Show award will be determined by skippers’ vote. We hope to see you in August, and thank you for sending your registration and fee. We will send a conformation of your dock space, and when the docks are fully booked those not confirmed will receive a refund of their fee. Please make the check out to Wood Boat Shop, and mail your registration fee and application to:
